A-HEALTH
We need YOU to carry out these researches to improve the quality of life, autonomy and health of elders.
The Centre for Excellence on Longevity, the Jewish General Hospital, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts are pursuing a clinical research programme that is unique in Canada. We aim to evaluate the effects of cultural mediation activities on well-being, quality of life, and overall health of people over 65 years of age and are looking for participants to carry out this project successfully.

The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts has been offering several complementary programmes to older adults since 2015. These include open houses, guided tours and creative art-based workshops. In the context of this study, our primary interest is directed toward the participatory art-based workshops, which present a unique opportunity to examine the ways in which art influences older adults’ health and quality of life.
In 2018, the Centre of Excellence on Longevity, the Jewish General Hospital and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts led an initial study on the effects of these workshops on the health of older adults; the excellent results attained have encouraged us to expand our understanding of the observed effects by putting in place a second study.
